StrikePoint explores in mining-friendly jurisdictions within North America to discover large footprint ore deposits of gold, silver and/or copper. StrikePoint Gold acquires new projects for evaluation based on sophisticated evaluation metrics. The management team uses cost-effective exploration methods to maximize the early stage evaluation of potential deposits. Exploration methods used by StrikePoint include using new technology in tandem with traditional geochemical and geophysical techniques such as LiDAR and satellite based remote sensing techniques.
StrikePoint Gold Inc. Dec. 3 announced that drilling continues to cut high-grade gold at its Willoughby project in British Columbia's prolific Golden Triangle.
StrikePoint acquired Willoughby from ArcWest (formerly Sojourn Exploration Inc.) in March for C$85,000 in cash and 3 million StrikePoint shares.
An intrusion related gold-silver project with similarities to Ascot Resources Ltd.'s Red Mountain Mine project about seven kilometers (four miles) to the west, Willoughby is the second Golden Triangle property StrikePoint added to its portfolio in as many years. The other, Porter, is a past producing high-grade silver property on Mount Rainey overlooking the town of Stewart.
Eager to test this newly acquired property, StrikePoint kicked off a drill program aimed at expanding and confirming high-grade historical intercepts at the North and Wilby (formerly referred to as Main) zones.
Previous drilling has cut very high gold and silver grades. Highlights from historic drilling at North include:
• 5.5 meters of 53.2 grams per metric ton gold and 211.1 g/t silver;
• three meters of 113.7 g/t gold and 121.8 g/t silver;
• 2.9 meters of 352.2 g/t gold and 194.6 g/t silver; and
• 3.5 meters of 120.3 g/t gold and 2,434.8 g/t silver.
Earlier this year, Strikepoint reported results from five holes drilled at North. The best intercepts came in hole C19-90, which cut 4.5 meters averaging 3.96 g/t gold and 74.55 g/t silver; and W19-094, which cut four meters of 26.28 g/t gold and 95 g/t silver.
In this latest batch of drill results, W19-097 cut multiple gold- and silver-rich intercepts, including:
• 4.15 meters of 5.29 g/t gold and 34.93 g/t silver from 19.8 meters;
• 1.27 meters of 22.3 g/t gold and 347 g/t silver from 78.99 meters;
• 1.33 meters of 72.2 g/t gold and 55 g/t silver from 91.17 meters; and
• five meters of 4.91 g/t gold and 27.79 g/t silver from 103.14 meters.
Historic drilling has also tapped strong gold and silver mineralization at the Wilby zone.
Highlights of historical intercepts from Wilby include:
• 6.8 meters of 20.45 g/t gold and 42.84 g/t silver;
• 12 meters of 12.66 g/t gold and 59.43 g/t silver; and
• 11.7 meters of 7.62 g/t gold and 1.43 g/t silver.
StrikePoint 2019 drilling encountered strong mineralization at Wilby, including:
• five meters of 4.91 g/t gold and 27.79 g/t silver in hole W19-097;
• 6.37 meters of 2.45 g/t gold and 28.76 g/t silver in W19-098;
• 11.7 meters of 3.87 g/t gold and 3.52 g/t silver in W19-099; and
• 7.02 meters of 3.26 g/t gold and 2.47 g/t silver in W19-100.
StrikePoint has validated the high-grade nature of gold mineralization, extended the known zones by over 100 meters, developed a strong geological model, and have encountered new high-grade surface mineralization on the margins of newly exposed ice-free areas," said StrikePoint Gold CEO Shawn Khunkhun. "The company now plans to analyze all new information collected through drilling, mapping, and surface and channel samples with the historical work, which includes a database of over 119 diamond drill holes and over 1,300 surface samples in preparation for a drill program in 2020.
Pluto is in the Kluane region, approximately 100km west of Carmacks.The property is large, 23km at its widest point, and includes the Venus claims along the northwestern edge. Almost 16,000 soil samples were taken between 2011 and 2012 by Ryan Gold Corp., identifying four target zones (Charon, Styx, Nyx and Hydra). StrikePoint work in 2017 included 1,294m of RAB drilling on the Charon and Hydra targets, and also identified the newly discovered Cerberus Zone to the east. Initial results suggest mineralization is occurring across several lithologies (shallow dipping schists and limestones with metavolcanic dykes) based around Au-Cu-Ag ores.
The area around the Mahtin property is well known for its long history of gold and silver mining, stretching back into the 1890’s. Mahtin is surrounded by several properties that have seen successful exploration results, including Victoria Gold’s Eagle Gold Project, a fully permitted development site. Geologists engaged by Strikepoint have both worked on the Mahtin and Eagle Gold projects, and so are highly familiar with the model and geological signals indicative of Intrusion Related Gold Systems.
-Golden Oly project:
The Golden-Oly project has exciting potential to be a series of plutons hosting Intrusion Related Gold systems. Airborne geophysical survey highlighted six anomalies that were later determined to be buried or partially exhumed intrusions. Additional anomaly on neighbouring Strikepoint PDM property. Buried plutons would still have their mineralized carapace intact, making them exciting drill targets. Sheeted veins of polymetallic minerals have been sampled by Ryan Gold staff in 2011/12, further reinforcing the IRGS model.
Grades up to 4.1 g/t Au and >100g/t Ag found on the Nug claims. No major soil anomalies due to mantle of sediments repressing signature, but where the plutons daylight, strongly anomalous soils have been observed. It has to be remembered that Victoria Gold’s Eagle deposit also had little to no surficial geochemical signature. Largely road accessible from Ross River, with final hop to sites currently by helicopter.
The Porter Idaho deposit sits on the circum-Pacific Ring of Fire; a geologically active area surrounding the Pacific Ocean. Millions of years of crustal subduction and continent building have formed the perfect conditions for some of the worlds largest and most well known epithermal and porphyry deposits. The Porter Idaho project is complemented by StrikePoint’s portfolio of early stage exploration properties in the Yukon, giving the company an excellent placement for success within the Ring of Fire. Property is underlain by a variety of intermediate to felsic fragmental volcanic rocks of the Jurassic Hazelton Group. N to NW-trending, westerly-dipping silver veins are present in the Prosperity-Porter Idaho and Silverado workings.
The 2,000 meters long prospective area between these workings has historically been obscured by the Silverado Glacier, but recession of summer ice-pack is uncovering new areas each year. The Silverado Fault extends through Prosperity, Porter Idaho & Silverado; known silver bearing veins are proximal to this fault zone. Mineralized veins on Mount Rainey are epithermal in nature and terminate on the Big Rig Fault. The Porter Idaho project is complemented by StrikePoint’s portfolio of early stage exploration properties in the Yukon, giving the company an excellent placement for success within the Ring of Fire.
StrikePoint Gold Inc. is a publicly traded company listed on the OTCQB under the ticker symbol STKXF.
